After leaving school, I took up a career as a Quantity Surveyor, but turned to holistic therapies when I became pregnant with my second daughter. I decided to hang up my hard hat and rigger boots and concentrate on cards, crystals and therapies which would improve our way of living. I have two beautiful daughters who have both benefitted greatly from my involvement in holistic therapies. Our family life too, has become less stressful and we are more mindful of each other, in a way I could never have imagined. I offer support for your birth choice including VBAC, multiples birth, hospital or at home. I will be exclusively on call from 38-42 weeks for your birth. If your baby is born before or after this time I will still try my best to be there if possible. I will be there from when you call for my presence in labour until up to a few hours after the birth, depending on your needs. I can offer suggestions and support with natural comfort techniques if needed; breathing, positions, massage or acupressure. I will believe in you and offer unwavering love and support. I can advocate on your behalf if required and I will support your birth partner to be fully confident and present at the birth, ensuring they have shorts breaks and refreshments as needed.

Life drawing and painting classes at the Life Room were designed by Paul with the intent to teach from a personal position as opposed to a generic one. He demonstrates how he draws and paints, believing in working to his strengths. Those participating in his classes are encouraged to develop their own style, drawing inspiration from the skills gained during the tutored sessions.

I’m Louisa and I live in Edinburgh with my husband, Craig and two young boys, Adam and Angus. Keeping fit and healthy has always been a priority for me. Yoga is a great way to build strength and focus the mind. I started practising yoga around age 14 but really started feel the mental health benefits when working full time in a stressful job as it allowed me that time to switch off. During my pregnancies, yoga really became a huge part of my life to maintain strength and prepare my body for birth through breathing, movement and relaxation.

Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby.
