We regularly hold Practical CPR and Moving & Handling classes at our office. This training is provided free of charge to ensure our members and applicants are given the opportunity to enhance and develop their skills annually. We can provide you with easy access to our highly respected on-line courses. Each course is designed to help you develop and update your skills. This access is provided free of charge to our members and applicants.

Hamish MacGregor is Director of the company and as well as supporting and developing the training consultants within the organisation, still delivers training on a regular basis. He has a healthcare background having trained as a nurse in the 70’s. He worked in a variety of clinical settings before becoming a senior manager in both the NHS and the voluntary sector. He became involved in education and training in the 90’s. He holds a BA (Hons) from the Open University and has an MSc in Back Care from Loughborough University.

Athena Handling Ltd.’s founder, John Callas is an Occupational Therapist who has specialised in Moving and handling practice and training for over 20 years. John has trained care givers in the community, care homes, as well as health professionals from all backgrounds in the NHS and social care. John strives to keep his training relevant and as such continues to carry out moving and handling assessments for local authorities around the country. This allows Athena to provide relevant training and risk assessments to its client’s, supported by actual real life experience

Handle With Care Training Ltd was started in 1994 by Philip and Janet Norcliffe, as a small firm absolutely committed to the delivery of the highest quality Health Care Training and Education. Philip was then a Senior Lecturer in Nursing Studies at the University of Sheffield, with special responsibility for Moving and Handling training. He has since retired from the university and now works full-time for Handle With Care Training Ltd. Our business is customer focused, responsive to the employer’s needs, carers’ needs and the users of the service, from front of house, accommodating customer needs and delivering tailored courses in a timely manner to a professional standard. We deliver training in a learner-friendly way to service users, their families, volunteers, home care staff, carers and nurses. Courses range from one hour up to five-day courses, in people’s own homes, our own training rooms and employers’ own premises, from a one to one in a service users home up to groups of 12.
